The Sacrament of Matrimony
The matrimonial covenant, by which a man and a woman establish between themselves a partnership of the whole of life, is by its nature ordered toward the good of the spouses and the procreation and education of offspring; this covenant between baptized persons has been raised by Christ the Lord to the dignity of a Sacrament. Catechism of the Catholic Church 1601
Couples wishing to marry through the Church must contact the Pastor at least 6 months prior to their intended wedding date. Please do not set the date without consulting the Pastor.
For more information, please call the Parish Office to set an appointment to speak with the Pastor.
Customarily, weddings are celebrated at 2:00 pm on Saturday. For other times to celebrate the wedding, please discuss the matter with the Pastor.
Please note that a couple may also request one of the Deacons to celebrate the nuptials although it will be done outside of the Mass setting.
Also note that a Catholic may marry a non-Catholic but only with the permission of the local Ordinary, the Bishop. A Catholic faithful
is not permitted to marry outside of the Church, i.e. another Christian or non-Christian faith, Civil Marriage or Common Law Marriage or to Cohabitate (live together) and still be able to receive Holy Communion.
